On Mayne Island

Home for Christmas - on Mayne Island

There is nothing more special than coming home for Christmas, and nothing harder than being away from home during the holidays. Join us for a wonderful collection of music to warm the heart and hearth. From David Millard's arrangement of medieval Wassails to jazz favourites like “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” including a Hebrew song anticipating the arrival of The Messiah. This is Music for the Hearth - and Soul bringing messages of peace, strength and hope to us all, together with traditional songs like Masters in this Hall and The Boar’s Head Carol; gentle laughs from P.D.Q. Bach’s Throw the Yule Log on Uncle John; and you might discover what happens during the 12 Days AFTER Christmas. We are delighted to be welcoming guest accompanist, Elisabeth Jahren.
